If the flight is cancelled with less than 24 hours to go before take off, the passenger is entitled to a full Refund. You won't be able to change your departure date once you've made a reservation. Only when you cancel your ticket at least three hours prior to departure will American Airlines issue a refund.
Travellers who bought tickets to or from the United States will get their money back within a week of reporting.
A traveller who purchased a ticket on American Airlines that is non-refundable is not eligible for a refund. Depending on where you live and the level of customisation you choose, the charges will change.
